Snickers Stuffed Dates Are Seriously Top-notch
If you’re a candy fan or just a sweet tooth person, this recipe is for you. Literally 4 ingredients: dates, chocolate, pecans, and nut butter. The texture is chewy, crunchy goodness with melty chocolate. The pecan in the center acts as the nougat, the peanut butter gives it that authentic flavor, the chewy dates taste just like caramel and the dark chocolate holds it all together. It takes less than an hour to make these and you’re going to be obsessed but satisfied (and not binging on an entire bag at once).
Four Simple Ingredients Needed
There are a lot of paleo or vegan Snickers dupes online, and they all look so good. But I’m so busy these days, I am sure you are too. So I wanted to keep it super simple. It doesn’t get more simple than this 4-ingredient paleo Snickers recipe!
- Medjool Dates: You need these, the other variations are too small. You may purchase them pre-pitted to save time.
- Pecan Halves: These are the perfect size, but you can use any nut you like, even peanuts!
- Dark Chocolate: You want a good quality chocolate bar that’s 75-85% dark.
- Nut Butter: I used peanut butter because it gives the most authentic Snickers flavor, but any nut butter will do!
- Flake Salt: This is optional, but oh-so-tasty!
How to Make These Stuffed Candy Bar Dates
Making Snickers Stuffed Dates is easy! It takes about 35 minutes total, and you don’t even need to turn on your oven. Start by gathering all of the ingredients listed above.
- Remove the pits (or seeds) from your dates. Do this by creating an incision down once end and prying them open. Repeat with all dates.
- Place a pecan half where the seed used to be, and then spoon in about 1 teaspoon of your nut butter of choice into the center with the pecan.
- Once you’ve stuffed all your dates, pop them in the freezer.
- Chop up your chocolate bars and microwave in a microwave-safe bowl, in 30-second increments. Stirring each time in between, until it’s smooth. No more than 90 seconds.
- Use tweezers or tongs to drop your stuffed dates in the chocolate to evenly coat, and place on a parchment-lined sheet pan. Repeat with all of the dates.
- Use a fork or spoon to drizzle the remaining chocolate over the dates and sprinkle with flake salt to finish. Set in the fridge to harden.
- Once firm you can store it in an airtight container in the fridge and just reach in a grab one for a quick treat or snack!
Tips and Tricks for the Perfect Healthy Snickers Dupe
- Don’t skip the part about freezing the stuffed dates, even if just for 5 minutes, while you melt the chocolate.
- You don’t have to close the stuffed date, as you can see in the images, once you have the pecan and peanut butter in there, they will be overflowing with goodness, but once the chocolate is covering it, and they are firm and chilled, it works!
- Do not go crazy with stuffing your Snickers dates, 1/2-1 teaspoon of peanut butter is plenty.
- To make these nut-free: stuff with pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds and use Sun Butter.
- If you’re paleo and don’t eat peanut butter, use almond butter or Sun Butter.

How long do they last in the frig, and can you freeze the as well? For how long? Thank you
Cristina Curp, FNTP says
They last quite a while, at least 10 days in the fridge. I have never frozen them because they get eaten. But I imagine they would last at least 2 months in the fridge, Although I would be careful to eat them frozen because you can crack a tooth!

I made these yesterday and my 3 year old grandson and I tore them up! They are so good, you have to ration then or you can eat the entire bunch at once.
