Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! I love turkey for these teriyaki meatballs, but ground chicken will work, and pork would be excellent too!
You can, but I don’t recommend it. Teriyaki is a pretty sweet sauce. Molasses has a lot of minerals and vitamins in it! I say leave it in!
Yes, freeze in an airtight container. Put in the fridge to thaw overnight. Heat in the oven for 10 minutes at 300F.
I love them with shirataki noodles, or over cauliflower rice. If you’re not doing AIP serve them with my Crispy Fried Cauli Rice.

These are delicious! I make a 3-pound batch and freeze them. I pop two into a bowl of butternut squash soup or on top of a salad for breakfast or lunch. Thanks for the recipe.

Hi. I made these awhile back, and they totally fell apart (but still delicious). Is there supposed to be an egg or some kind of binder in them?
Cristina says
did you use dark meat ground turkey? that’s key, since they are egg free to be AIP compliant. If you do ok with eggs, then you can totally add an egg if using light meat ground turkey or any kind really.
Kendra says
These look delicious! Have you tried to sub ground beef for ground turkey?
Cristina says
I have not, but I’m sure it would work!
Sarah Morissette says
Do these freeZe well??
Cristina says
Yes!
